The top layer is made of water-stain proof 1st class quality leather. The proofing is given by the top
grain finishing of the leather itself, which naturally repels water.
The bottom layer which sits on your
desk is made of fine suede leather, which provides a good grip on the below surface not allowing the
mat to slip.
